48 Hours in Seattle, Washington (Spring 2023)

This March, my friend Kayla and I decided to skip town and head up to Seattle for a girls’ trip. It was our decided upon Christmas gift to each other (I highly recommend planning an experience gift to do during a more boring month with little going on!). This is 48 Hours in Seattle, Washington!

48 Hours in Seattle, Washington

Permanent Jewelry - Eternity Bracelets @ Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry

Kayla and I decided to treat ourselves and get our very first eternity bracelets at the one and only Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry. They’re the same brand that made our wedding rings and my engagement ring and I wouldn’t trust anyone else! We picked the unique chain styles that spoke to us individually and then the lovely Amara got us hooked up! The process was super quick, and of course painless. Highly recommend!

A Stop at Mr. West Coffee

While we were perusing the Madrona neighborhood after Valerie Madison, I noticed a Mr. West location and told Kayla we NEEDED to go in! This location didn’t offer a full food menu but we ended up enjoying some avocado toast. I got a lemonade and she tried the pear soda with cream.

A Little Shopping in Downtown

When in Seattle, you make a trip to Nordy’s! I needed to select my heels for the wedding and also wanted to check out sandals for my second bridal look. While I struck out on sandals, I found the cutest kitten heels that will compliment my extravagant gown. We walked around checking out the clothes and jewelry before heading back to our hotel. While you’re around Nordy’s, also pop into Sephora and the wide variety of shops in downtown!

Dinner at Tidal+ (inside Hyatt @ Olive 8)

We stayed at the gorgeous Hyatt @ Olive 8. Their seafood restaurant Tidal+ is wonderful. Kayla got the burger and I opted for the salmon filet. Later, we enjoyed the 24/7 pizza vending machine in the lobby and got in some jetted tub action. The hotel also has a pool and a full service spa with massages, facials, you name it. Be sure to reserve these services early, especially if you’re going on the weekend. For being so boujie, this hotel is one of the best in downtown… and one of the most affordable! I was pleasantly shocked and will be back immediately.

Drag Brunch @ Taqueria Cantina

Would it even be a Kathryn Seattle trip without a stop at Taqueria Cantina!? We attended their regular downtown Sunday drag brunch event and had a wonderful time. We even witnessed a baby queen doing one of their first live performances! In the past, I’ve tried the hash bowl and chilaquiles dishes, but let me put you on to their French toast. NEXT. LEVEL.! We also grabbed some of their guacamole + chips which is simply elite.

The Seattle Selfie Museum

Another highlight of the trip, we purchased VIP all-day passes to The Selfie Museum (this pass lets you leave and return as many times as you’d like that day). If you don’t know, The Selfie Museum is a company with museums in many major cities. In Seattle, there’s dozens of scenes and two floors to explore. They even have an area to leave your bags and you can change in their bathroom as needed. We planned 3 looks and swapped them out once we surveyed the scenes and decided which would suit each outfit best. Note that there are ring lights that are meant for your phone, but you can also bring in professional cameras. I’d say you definitely have to experience The Selfie Museum at least once in your life, it’s super worth it and fun!

I’m already looking forward to my next 48 hours in Seattle and hope this gave you some inspo for your next weekend trip! :)
