24 Hours in Seattle, Washington (Spring 2023)

In honor of my friend Shanta’s birthday, we headed up for a day trip to Seattle filled with all of my fave staples! This is 24 Hours in Seattle, Washington.

24 Hours in Seattle, Washington

Korean Cheese Dogs @ Chung-Chun Rice Dogs

A must-visit when I head to Seattle, you will not regret trying these delicious cheese-filled rice dogs! Perfect for meat lovers and vegetarians alike - fill yours with sausage or plentiful cheese! Pro Tip: Pay the extra to get Cheeto topping.

Exploring The Pier

I can’t remember the last time I explored the Pier at the waterfront and it did not disappoint. There are so many fun things to do - check out the variety of restaurants, ride The Great Wheel (ferris wheel), browse the shops, take a photo in one of the many photo booths, or give the carousel a spin.

Post Alley Gum Wall

When in Seattle, you MUST visit the gum wall in Post Alley (near Pike Place Market). Yep, it’s simply a back alley where people stick their already-chewed gum. This was Shanta’s first time and I knew we had to “pop her cherry”. If you don’t come with gum, you can head on up to Ghost Alley Espresso and they’ll sell you some for cheap. It may seem gross, but it’s tradition in the Emerald City.

Pike Place Market

Another Seattle staple, don’t leave without visiting the Pike Place Market! You won’t want to miss the famous “fish toss” that happens every several minutes, and there’s a wide variety of incredible gift/craft and fresh produce vendors to support.

Visiting the First Ever Starbucks Store

Another you-gotta-do-it-at-least-once adventure is to visit the very first Starbucks ever, located next to Pike Place Market. Just be prepared for a long line, especially on weekends. Shanta and I tried the new paradise drink with vanilla sweet cream cold foam on top (pretty yummy but the drink is great on its own, too - very refreshing for summer!). We also picked up some merch exclusive to this location.

Shopping in Pacific Place

I’m not gonna lie: There’s not much to see in Pacific Place. There is a decent sized Lululemon so we stopped in to get our fix, and we also discovered an adorable shop called Ghost Gallery filled with tarot decks, crystals, art, pins, and so, so much more. I will be back!

Dinner @ Din Tai Fung

We were at Pacific Place for dinner at Din Tai Fung, as per usual. We ordered the must-have staples: cucumber salad and garlic green bean appetizers, steamed vegan buns (Shanta also did meat buns), sesame sauce noodles, and chocolate buns for dessert! A true birthday feast.

I’m already looking forward to my next 24 hours in Seattle and hope this gave you some inspo for your next day trip! :)
