24 Hours in Seattle, Washington (Winter 2025)

There’s nothing quite like Seattle during the holidays - and there’s definitely nothing like a festive girls’ day with your bestie! Nicole and I packed 24 hours with fluffy donuts, holiday high tea, local shopping, permanent friendship bracelets, and wandering through some of Seattle’s cutest neighborhoods. From Madison Valley to Capitol Hill, this day was basically our love language: delicious treats, darling little shops, and quality friend time. If you’re looking for a festive Seattle girls’ day itinerary, consider this your sign.

24 Hours in Seattle, Washington

Donuts @ The Flour Box

Okay, I FINALLY understand the hype. The Flour Box had been on my Seattle foodie list since foreverrrr, and these handmade brioche donuts were absolutely worth the wait. The flavors rotate regularly, which makes every visit a little different, and we lucked out with their holiday menu. The gingerbread?! HELLO?! Life-changing. The Flour Box is known for selling out and drawing some pretty impressive lines, so my advice is to make this your first stop of the morning and arrive early. We visited on a weekday and the wait wasn’t terrible, but I’d give yourself plenty of extra time on a weekend. Consider me officially hooked - this will absolutely not be my last Flour Box run.

Holiday High Tea @ Cafe Flora

Holiday high tea has become one of our favorite bestie traditions, so naturally we had to keep it going! Cafe Flora is a longtime Madison Valley gem known for its creative vegetarian cooking and gorgeous, plant-filled atmosphere, and their seasonal afternoon teas take everything up approximately seventeen levels of adorable. Think tiered trays filled with savory bites, fresh-baked scones, tiny pastries, and plenty of tea in the coziest setting. Their tea menus change seasonally and even offer vegan and gluten-free versions, which makes this such a thoughtful option for a celebratory girls’ day. Getting dressed up, sipping tea, and catching up with your best friend during Christmastime? 10/10, no notes!!

Shopping in Madison Valley @ The Shop on Madison + Florentino’s Fine Flowers

After tea, we wandered around Madison Valley for a little holiday shopping. The Shop on Madison is the kind of beautifully curated home and design store that makes you want to redo your entire house after approximately four minutes inside - decor, candles, books, textiles, and plenty of little treasures that make fantastic gifts.

Right nearby, Florentino’s Fine Flowers combines gorgeous custom florals with one of the sweetest little gift shops. Beyond the blooms and plants, you’ll find thoughtfully curated candles, cards, books, home goods, and other goodies that make it very difficult to leave empty-handed. Together, these shops make Madison Valley such a fun little pocket for shopping locally during the holidays.

Permanent Bracelets @ Valerie Madison Fine Jewelry

This stop was extra special to me. Valerie Madison is the incredible Seattle jeweler behind both my engagement ring and our wedding rings, so you already know this place has my whole heart. Valerie is an independent, Black & Latina, woman-owned jewelry designer known for gorgeous engagement rings, wedding bands, and fine jewelry, with an emphasis on thoughtful design and an inclusive jewelry-shopping experience.

Nicole and I decided there was no better way to commemorate our bestie day than matching permanent bracelets! Their Eternity Bracelets are custom-fitted solid-gold chains that are welded right onto your wrist for a sweet little keepsake. And since I was already visiting the mothership, you know I had to give my rings a little polish while I was there. They came out sparkling like new! :) Whether you’re shopping for forever jewelry or just want a sentimental little friendship piece, Valerie Madison will forever get my recommendation.

Books + Coffee @ Ada’s Technical Books & Cafe

Next, we made our way over to Capitol Hill and discovered one of the coolest bookstore concepts in Seattle. Ada’s Technical Books & Cafe was built for curious minds, with shelves dedicated to everything from science and mathematics to engineering, coding, design, and other delightfully nerdy subjects. Pair that with a cozy café and plenty of room to settle in, and it was the kind of place that immediately made me think ohhh, I could hang out here for hourssss.

Even if you weren’t specifically hunting for a technical textbook, there were books, gifts, puzzles, and plenty of interesting things to browse. Such a unique little Seattle spot!

Update: Since this original visit, Ada’s Technical Books & Cafe permanently closed in June 2026 after 16 years on Capitol Hill. We’re super glad we got the chance to experience this special neighborhood bookstore and wish the entire Ada’s team the very best in whatever comes next.

Local Gifts @ Station 7

Our final shopping stop was Station 7, another Capitol Hill gem and possibly one of the cutest places to hunt for a unique Seattle gift. The shop is housed inside a retired 1920s firehouse (!!!) and focuses heavily on local and handmade goods, with everything from jewelry and stationery to ceramics, books, plants, candles, and self-care goodies.

Even better, more than 70% of the products they carry are made by local, woman-owned artists and businesses, so one purchase can support several small makers at once. If you’re trying to shop small during the holidays, or just need a gift for that person who is impossible to shop for, this is exactly the kind of place where you’ll find something you wouldn't see everywhere else.

Seattle really showed off for our little holiday girls’ day. Between finally experiencing The Flour Box, continuing our high tea tradition, wandering through neighborhood shops, and leaving with matching permanent bracelets to remember the day, it was such a sweet reminder that you don’t need an elaborate getaway to make Christmastime feel special. Sometimes all you need is your best friend, a few Seattle neighborhoods, and an unreasonable amount of delicious food. :)
