Seasonal Afternoon Tea in Seattle, Washington - Cafe Flora
Over the past year, my friend Nicole and I have made these Cafe Flora themed afternoon teas our friendship tradition! We’ve been able to indulge in all three of the year’s events: Halloween Tea, Holiday Tea, and English Spring Tea. Each event features a meticulously crafted menu celebrating the flavors of the season! From savory bites like pimento cheese sandwiches and darling gougères to sweet treats like cherry blossom meringues and ginger scones, every item is thoughtfully prepared both in-house at Cafe Flora and their sister bakery Flora Bakehouse.
Inclusive & Ethical Dining
Cafe Flora stands out, but not just for its food! Owned by Nat Stratton-Clarke, a trans entrepreneur, the restaurant is committed to creating an inclusive environment for both staff and patrons. The tea menus are entirely vegetarian with dedicated vegan and gluten-free options available, ensuring that everyone can participate in the experience. Note that they are fabulous as a regular everyday dining spot, too! My sweetie and I have been coming here since we first started dating back in 2013.
How to Plan Your Tea
I highly recommend staying on top of what’s happening by following Cafe Flora’s Instagram and also subscribing for newsletter updates. You will be the first alerted when a new seasonal tea is approaching - and don’t dilly dally because these teas book QUICKLY! Whether you’re local or visiting Seattle (like us!), attending one of these seasonal teas is a delightful way to celebrate the flavors of the Pacific Northwest, with a little English flair!
