2022 Holiday Gift Ideas + What I Asked For
Let’s be real: We all like to gain a little inspiration from seeing gift guides and wishlists of other people with our similar tastes and aesthetic, am I right? I wanted to round up all of my 2022 holiday gift ideas and things I’m asking for in one central place. I’ve laid out the following by categories and sections for easy browsing:
2022 Holiday Gift Ideas
Home | Kitchen
It’s been 3 years since my fiance and I moved to our current apartment after a pretty traumatic renting experience that unfortunately forced us to give up most of our belongings. Luckily, we’ve been able to quickly replace what we lost and don’t need much / aren’t asking for much this year. If we need a cooking gadget or a specific type of glass, we get it for ourselves and don’t think much of it. However, an appliance we’ve never had in any of our homes that we see a huge benefit from is a toaster oven. We’re asking for this one from Black & Decker. I love making charcuterie boards with friends and I only have a couple smaller boards in my cupboard at the moment, so I’m also asking for a large platter and some beautiful cheese knives from World Market to upgrade my collection.
Travel / Luggage
While I may not love airplanes, I do love to travel! I still need durable luggage and it’s a nice bonus if it’s aesthetically pleasing, too. I’ve been eyeing the Beis brand for sooo long and am finally adding them to my wishlist this year. Most important is The Weekender bag, perfect for 2 and 3 day trips away (which is what we most often do to escape our city for the weekend) - this is one of my top starred items on my wishlist. In addition, I’m a big fan of The Carry-On Roller in a complimentary beige tone (I always carry on my luggage in the event I do fly, so it still needs to be this compact size), and the corresponding packing cubes. You’d truly be all set with this collection!
Tech / Accessories
I’m a techy gal if you didn’t know, so my #1 ask for Christmas is a wide angle lens for my new vlogging camera - this Canon 11-22mm lens is just perfect for my needs and is very cost-effective compared to the other options out there. In addition, this stylish case (in a beigy white, like all my other gift requests… duh!) would be great for traveling with my camera and avoiding any harmful drops. Another gift idea would be an iPad case complete with keyboard!
Self | Beauty
You’ve gotta pamper yourself if possible! One thing I’ve been wanting for a while now is Drybar’s The Mixologist Interchangeable Styling Iron that allows you to create 3 distinctive looks for your locks. It’s just not something I’d put my tight budget to while saving for the wedding, so I had the perfect excuse to ask for it this year! I’d also love a bottle of my favorite scent, a delicious body oil from a brand I admire, and a gift card to Sephora if my loved ones are willing.
Self | Wardrobe
Another thing I’ve been cheap about this year with wedding savings are clothes and shoes - it’s just not my first priority right now. That being said, I could really use some new booties and shackets. I gave my people a couple favorite links like this shacket from Amazon, and this one from Target, as well as this brown bootie and this black combat bootie from Target.
Self | Fitness
Throughout the past year, I’ve engaged in a much more active lifestyle, which has consequentially grown my athleisure wardrobe! My favorite activewear brand is hands down Girlfriend Collective, followed by Lululemon. This year, I’m asking for another pair of my favorite biker shorts, a two-pack of my favorite sports bra, among other leggings and tops, just to give my loved ones plenty of ideas! I’m also a full convert of the large Lulu Everywhere Belt Bag, so I’d love another color of this. And, finally, I’m inviting my loved ones to bring me aboard the Stanley Tumbler train if they so desire to!
Self | Miscellaneous
These mixed gifts excite me SO much!
First up is one of my top requests: The Ring Boxes - a bridal subscription box filled with goodies leading up to your big day! I researched all of the bridal boxes available and landed on this gem. Fingers crossed I get this for Christmas!
This isn’t really a self gift but it was too dang good not to include! Next is the Storyworth subscription that I plan on buying for both of my parents. As my parents soak up their retirement era as younger, healthy people, they are inevitably also aging, and I want to make sure I document the stories of their lives! Storyworth allows you to send a question prompt once a week, and at the end of the year the answers get compiled into a beautiful book.
I’m also such a fan of The Adventure Challenge activity book series - I plan to get the couple’s version for Jared and I, and already own the friendship version with my best friend Lauren, complete with the matching Polaroid camera to document each activity completed! This Christmas, I’m asking for the Solo book as I have been trying to become more comfortable with being alone and doing solo activities.
Finally, a small but fun gift idea are these mittens, perfect for those of us who like to use our phones but don’t like the “tech gloves” that seriously NEVER work! I love taking fall/winter walks and these are a must-have. The mittens allow you to keep your fingers warm whenever you’re not using the phone or grabbing something. Just take a look at the listing - it’s epic! Thanks to my friend Emily for sharing these with me.
I hope this guide came in handy when dreaming up gifts for loved ones or something you may want to add to your own list this year!
I’ll come back here and add more as I collect ideas :)
