Restaurant Highlight: Urban Fondue in Portland, Oregon
This local PDX spot is one of my faves to stop at whenever I’m visiting! Urban Fondue takes the classic Melting Pot format and adds their own unique twist.
Urban Fondue in Portland, Oregon
It’s become somewhat of tradition for Lauren and I to dine at Urban, and you know we always do The Fondue Experience! This option is just $39.95 per person (or $34.95 during happy hour) and features one cheese fondue + one dessert fondue for two with one entrée selection each.
We started with the cheese fondue & a side of grilled asparagus spears - so yum! We’ve tried both the smoked local farmhouse cheddar and the pesto caprese.
Then it was time for the entrees! I always opt for their vegetarian option that includes tofu, asparagus, marinated tomatoes, artichoke hearts, grilled onions, sweet carrots, mushrooms and scallions. We chose our favorite tomato fennel seasoned broth.
The dipping sauces are next level, I’m not even kidding. Get a load of this lineup: Au poivre peppercorn, Oregon marion berry ketchup, smoked tomato aioli, local pinot noir demi-glace, lemon caper garlic butter, basil pesto, chimichurri, traditional béarnaise, lime chili, and Thai peanut. Try at least a little of each!
Pro Tip: If someone in your party is vegetarian, simply allow them to cook their food first! It has the quickest cook time and that way the meat doesn’t mix.
Yummy goodness! You can’t go wrong with any of their sweet fondues for dessert. They tend to alternate their featured offerings with seasonal delicacies!
