Frankly, Lately: The November Edit
Hi friends! Welcome to Frankly, Lately - the monthly series where I share the little things currently filling my cup. Think of it as a cozy catch-up between blog posts: what I’m loving, reading, eating, wearing, and thinking about lately - all wrapped up in one spot.
Each month, I’ll share a new “edit” of moments, favorites, and musings from my everyday life - the things that made me smile, sparked inspiration, or simply got me through. Consider it your friendly peek behind the scenes of what life’s been like lately. I hope that you’ll discover something new and exciting to you, or maybe we can connect over a shared love! :)
So, without further ado - here’s The November Edit.
Savoring: I’ve recently got on a TruFru kick again - I found one of the larger bags at Costco and have been loving my little nightly treat!
Wearing: Obsessed with my new rental AND permanent purchase from Nuuly this month - the Hutch Checkerboard Fuzzy Overcoat that I purchased for nearly 80% off! Huge steal and a fantastic staple piece in my closet.
Reading: I just wrapped up Tom Hanks’ debut novel “The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece” which was a long read but worth it! I loved how easy it was to visualize the various settings… and I swear I could almost smell the foods, too! Tom is a phenomenal actor and an equally awesome writer. Only he could write such a fantastic portrayal of the journey of making of a motion picture. :) Now I am moving on to two cheesy Christmas romance novels to get in the holiday spirit!
Listening: I finally caught up on some new-ish music and listened to Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, and Zara Larsson’s new albums. These have been on REPEAT especially while I do my little workout videos every night. Bangerzzzz.
Watching: Finally got caught up with some The Valley and The Real Housewives, currently working on getting through the new season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and gearing up to stay up to date with Vlogmas 2025! I’m excited to see who all is participating this year, it seems like more and more folks are going to TikTok and short-form platforms to participate nowadays and less are doing YouTube. C’mon, guys! It’s a YT tradition!
Creating: I’ve been dabbling in a bit of painted pottery and other crafty bits & bobs this month and have a couple holiday crafting girls’ nights planned for the next month. I think I may have been influenced to pick up more “grandma hobbies” and dare I say… needlepointing!? More on that to come.
Visiting: I’ve been trying to really prioritize time with family this month and have been visiting my parents more (thankfully) after not being able to see them very much this spring/summer between their travels and my various illnesses. Now is the time to make up for lost time! :)
Loving: I got a couple new Coco Wyo coloring books and was SO glad to see that there’s a 2nd volume of her famous Girl Moments book (my absolute FAVE coloring book!) so I snatched that baby up. I’ve also been loving my new fancy microphone kit from DJI that I invested in for my business and I’ve been obsessed with how the videos are coming out for my clients! I’m even dabbling in it myself and used it to give my Black Friday haul for the vlog. 10/10, highly recommend if you’re in this line of work and could use an upgrade on your tech.
Craving: More caramelized onion and goat cheese puff pastry bites (appetizers are the best holiday food, am I right!?).
Learning: A ton about the home remodeling/construction industry! I was lucky to sign on a neat, local home remodel & repair company as a marketing client this summer and am currently working on 2 different website designs for other folks in their same niche. Adding “luxury vinyl plank” and “pony wall” to my everyday vocab. ;)
Buying: Tons of Christmas gifts! I don’t wanna talk about it.
Manifesting: A calm, collected, cool new year.
Snapping: Lots & lots of festive cheer. Painted pottery dates, delicious plates, and so much more.
Feeling: Extra excited for Vlogmas 2025! Who else? :)
Obsessing: Not sure I have a strong obsession this month, but I will say balancing eating well + getting movement has brought me a lot of joy.
Celebrating: Thanksgiving, although I didn’t really celebrate! For my family, this holiday is just the chance to eat lots of good food and make amazing memories together. At dinnertime, we all go around the table and share things we are thankful for to really soak up the gratitude. Since we are the colonizers, I made donations to two awesome local, Indigenous-run charities to “pay rent”: The Na’ah Illahee Fund and the Salmon Forever Fund.
Scrolling: I’m on needlepoint for beginners TikTok lately, and I’m also trying to get up to speed with all my YouTube faves’ vlogs before Vlogmas begins! Wish me luck.
Recharging: Trying to take some intentional time off during this super busy season.
Cheering: for the season, obviously! :) Love celebrating the holidays with the fam and soaking up all the good food and vibes.
