Dine in the Sky at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue, Washington
Jared and I had such a fun time celebrating our anniversary at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue, Washington! 9 years passing in a relationship can at times make it hard to remember to treat yourself to nice dates out & about that are any different from your normal dates out, so when my friend shared about Ascend in an Instagram Reel, I knew this would be the perfect excuse for a fancy anniversary brunch! The best part? You dine in the sky!
Anniversary Brunch at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue, Washington
When you arrive in the building, you'll make your way to a super special, ultra-fast elevator that will shoot you up to the 31st floor in a matter of seconds (it’s a little wobbly and you’ll certainly feel a bit disoriented, but coming from someone who hates heights and many elevators, I can assure you that it isn't that bad… and TOTALLY worth what’s to come!).
The best seating is by the window, but due to high demand they can't guarantee any specific tables. We went on a weekend and were easily able to score prime seating, so I'm wishing you good luck for your visit! It may take a while to become adjusted to the heights and sweeping views, but simply take some deep breaths and try to take it all in. It is truly magical.
The brunch comes with complimentary breaded pastry treats, fresh juice, and brewed coffee, then you use their beautiful box menu to select whether you will enjoy two, three, or four selections - this setup also makes sharing easy if there’s enough on the menu that fits everyone’s dietary needs and you’re into that sort of approach. Since Jared and I have very different palates and he was interested in trying their meat dishes, we decided to each do a 3-plate experience and share some sweet items.
We also each enjoyed their mang-mosa drink for a little alcoholic treat! Seriously so yummy.
For my savory bites, I tried the Avocado Crostino - featuring tograrashi toast with yuzu corn espuma, crispy chickpeas, and watermelon radish, and the sushi Tomato Roll made with charred asparagus, koji smoked pea puree, and candied tomato skins. Both were heavenly!
For his savory dishes, Jared opted for the Chicharron Chicken & Waffle made with karaage style chicken, sesame chicken skins, and a malted waffle, served with 100% maple & hot honey syrup, as well as the Steak & Egg Fried Rice highlighting prime crispy beef, red rice, mushrooms, and scallions. He was FLOORED and said it was by far the best brunch he’d ever tasted.
For a little sweetness, we decided to pick some Frutopia Pancakes to share, which are created with a cinnamon roll base, hazelnut crumble, and blood orange scented syrup. Jared chose the bruleed banana topping, and I went with the PNW berry topping so we could enjoy some variety. The banana pancakes were hands down the fave, but you really can’t go wrong here.
I was able to confirm with our amazingly attentive waitress that they have an extremely accommodating, dietary preference and allergy-friendly kitchen, and I quickly texted my parents that we must return with them! We absolutely loved this experience and will definitely be back to try their Happy Hour and/or Dinner very soon. Will you be giving dining in the sky a try?
