48 Hours in Seattle, Washington (Summer 2022)
This summer, after battling some awful post-viral vestibular complications and having to subsequently cancel our spring trip, I eagerly jumped at the chance to spend a couple days in one of my favorite cities, Seattle. This is 48 Hours in Seattle, Washington!
48 Hours in Seattle, Washington
Seattle Mariners Baseball Game
We left for Seattle on Friday afternoon once my fiance finished his day of WFM. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to a Seattle Mariners baseball game (or two), so you know we had to catch a Friday night game! You can’t miss Ivar’s fish & chips or the delicious garlic fries and gigantic lemonades. Sit in the upper 200 level and you can order food right from your seat! This year, we’re actually playing decently and it’s been lovely to see amazing players such as Julio Rodriguez (I had to buy a jersey of his to rep). Big, exciting news: I’ll be going to a lot of M’s games next summer because we got season tickets! :)
Starbucks Reserve Roastery
You may know that Starbucks’ origins are in Seattle and their Reserve Roastery is not one to miss. They have Reserves all over the country, but there’s something special about knowing you’re visiting the place where it all began (if you want to check out their first location, swing by Pike Place coming later on this list). The Reserve is unlike any other Starbucks you’ve been to before - they feature a whole, elaborate food menu with toasts, gigantic flatbreads, fresh salads, and pastries taken to another level! In addition to the food, you can order from their special coffee offerings or opt for an alcoholic coffee creation at the bar. Enjoy a walk around and you’ll find the Coffee Library and see the beans in action!
Downtown Shopping
After grabbing breakfast at the Reserve, we decided to bop around downtown Seattle and do a little shopping. There’s a central hub of shops with their own standalone storefronts - I’d spend far too much dough if you let me. I was conservative in my spending (we are saving for a wedding after all) and found some great autumnal fits at Nordstrom Rack, then popped into the Seattle Team Store where I purchased an adorable rainbow Pride baseball (of course!). Later, back at the hotel, we placed a pickup order for some Din Tai Fung noodles and buns, located inside of Pacific Place, a block from where we were staying at Hotel Theodore (HIGHLY recommend - it’s our fave!).
Taqueria Cantina Runway Drag Brunch
On Sunday afternoons, local gem Taqueria Cantina hosts Runway Drag Brunches featuring the best of the best local drag artists. You’ll want to purchase tickets ahead of time - it will sell out! These performers blow me away every brunch, the DJ is fantastic (shoutout Vince!), and the food is perfection. I adore having a space where I can celebrate both my Latinx and queer roots with zero judgment. P.S.: I may have something up my sleeve for my female friends and family come Bachelorette season… you know I’ll share all about my plans, both here and on the vlog!
Pike Place Market
Obviously, we had to round out our trip with a visit to Pike Place Market along the waterfront. This historic market is full of the neatest vendors and goods. I have my faves but usually end up finding something new and unique with each visit. If you haven’t yet, be sure to stop by The Gum Wall in Post Alley (trust me). If you need a piece to leave your mark, you can usually buy gum next door at Ghost Alley Espresso.
I’m already looking forward to my next 48 hours in Seattle and hope this gave you some inspo for your next weekend trip!
