24 Hours in Portland, Oregon (Spring 2022)

Back in May, I was able to spend a wonderful 24 hours in Portland, Oregon with my friend Lauren to celebrate my birthday! The big 28, baby! We knew we wanted to save a bit of funds this year and only go down for a day trip, and we were pleasantly surprised seeing how much we could cram into those hours. This is 24 Hours in Portland, Oregon!

24 Hours in Portland, Oregon

La Provence

We ended up going to the Vancouver - Mill Plain Blvd. location of this beautiful cafe & restaurant so that we could meet up with our friend Jess who recently moved to the area, but there’s PDX locations, too! La Provence is a bakery lovers DREAM. I ordered the La Provence Benedict (minus the ham, add avocado). My mouth is seriously watering just typing this… Once you’ve finished your seated meal, you won’t want to forget to swing by the baked goods area for the perfect eclair or torte.

Tea Bar

This is a must-visit for me every time I’m in PDX. Tea Bar offers a variety of tea-based drinks, both regular teas and milk-based boba teas - there’s something for everyone! I rarely deviate from my tried and true: the cocoa cinnamon boba tea. Highly recommend!

Hinterland Bar & Carts

This adorable food cart pod is a land full of many flavors! For lunch, I couldn’t resist digging into some veggie tacos from La Taquiza Vegana - even if you aren’t vegan/vegetarian, you will love this spot. The space has a great amount of comfy seating that we appreciated, too. I look forward to going back someday to explore more of the Hinterland carts!

Portland Art Museum

The Frida x Diego exhibit that was traveling through caught our attention and we knew the art museum would be on our list for the day! We got to enjoy so much of Frida’s story: Her original art pieces (including the famous “Diego on My Mind” which I ended up buying a print of in the gift shop), clothing, tales of her upbringing and the multitude of her activism. I loved this art museum and we browsed some of the other exhibits + the gift shop before we headed out.

Urban Fondue

If you’re a fan of The Melting Pot, this local spot is for you! Urban Fondue adds their own twist on the original format, offering unique flavors and ingredients. Great for just a date for two, or a party! This spot has become an annual tradition for Lauren and I.

I’m looking forward to my next 24 hours in Portland and hope this gave you some inspo for your next day trip!
